Been Awile

Yes, I know. It's been quite a while since I posted. But at least I've gotten some scrapbooking done. Last night there was an online crop at Little Red Scrapbook. And since I get kits from there and I've never done an online crop I joined in. I only got in on the last hour or so, but I got 2 pages done for challenges. One was to use a die cut sheet and the other was to add bling. Here they are!

I'm Done!

Whoo hoo! I finally finished organizing all my scrapbook stuff. The closet is CLEAN! It took longer than I hoped, probably because of a certain 17 month old, but I got it done. All my paper, even my scraps, are color coded and stored. My embellishments are organized by theme. All is right in the world. Now I just have to use all that stuff to make something cute.

Weekend Fun

Well, our weekend went over pretty well. Friday night and Saturday morning was nothing but rain and that got boring fast. I attempted to organize my scrapbook stuff. I say attempted because a lot of it is still in the floor. I'm not lucky enough to have a scraproom. Everything is stored in the extra bedroom closet and I have to haul stuff to the kitchen table to work on a page. It's a good thing we don't eat at the table! We do have plans to eventually turn our formal dining room (which is just a catch all room now) into a scraproom/kid's playroom. There are just so many things to work on around here that that project keeps getting pushed back. Oh well. We did eat at Cici's Saturday night just to get Anna out of the house for a while. But Sunday we got up to sunshine and decided to down to my parents' land and ride fourwheelers. We spent all day there and Anna had the time of her life. She loves the outdoors. And it's always cute to see her come back from a ride fast asleep. I'll have to post pictures later!

Photo Class

I'm taking an online class from Maggie Holmes & I had homework due today. But of course it rained today and I had put off taking my "real" pictures until today. So I'm stuck with my practice shots. This week was all about lighting - side, back, front. Well, here's one shot I turned in. It was supposed to be my side lighting example, but she turned too quickly. Oh well, close enough!. I hope I get a good grade!

I finally had some time to scrapbook, so I thought I'd post some pictures. Sorry about the poor quality, I had some issues trying to take the pics indoors without a flash. I didn't want a big glare in the photos.

Both of these pages were done mainly with kits from Little Red Scrapbooks kit club. "At home" was done with the March kit & "Pretty Soon" was done with the April kit - which I happen to LOVE!

I was browsing websites and I saw this cute little "quilted" card on ScrapbookCircle's blog. Well, I thought, how hard could this really be. So I broke out my never been used crafty little sewing machine and got to work. It didn't work. Not for me. I hate sewing machines. Big ones, little ones....it doesn't matter. I hate them and they hate me. Anyways, I dumped the sewing idea and just made cards. I searched out coordinating scraps that I had left sitting around and went to work. Here's a pictures of two of them. They took less than 15 minutes and cost practically nothing, since they were made of scraps. I'd say maybe 50 cents. Not bad considering how much Hallmark cards are these days!

Crafty Time

Hope everyone had a good Easter. We spent Sunday with Robert's side of the family. It was raining, though, so the Easter Bunny had to hide the eggs in bedrooms. I don't think Anna mided.
Well, Anna is napping and I need to do some scrapbooking. I'm feeling a little crafty. Actually, I haven't made cards in a really long time. Maybe I'll hunt out some scraps and try making some cards.

Easter Lilies

So a while back I found this cute little craft to make Easter lilies out of cardstock, straws, and your little one's traced hands. It looked simple enough and I usually make a little craft for Anna to give to grandparents on holidays, so I thought, "Why not?" Well, I figured out why not. Anna's hands are really too small to work with and the cardstock just doesn't bend like it should and regular papers is too flimsy. And green straws are impossible for me to find. So I painted the straws, but that didn't work because the paint just peels off. Anyways, I went ahead and made them and used some strategically placed bows to try to hide the various imperfections.

I didn't attempt to take great pictures of them because no angle or aperture was going to help!

If you want to try your luck at making these, I'm sure you can find them on the Family Fun magazine website. I got it straight from the mag. Good luck!

Easter Pictures

So I realized last night that I hadn't done Easter pictures with Anna yet so I put aside the Easter Lily project to do the pictures. Of course, the wind is blowing 90 miles an hour and it's unseasonably cold and only getting colder this week. So I had to set up an indoor shoot (which I hate) and attempt to get pics. I ended up with a few good ones, but none of them really scream "Easter photo shoot." So maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe not.

Twilight

Ohhhh. So I haven't gotten anything done this week. No laundry, no cleaning, no photos taken for my Maggie Holmes Photography class. Nothing. Just reading those stinkin Twilight books. I'm hooked. But I started the first one Tuesday afternoon and I'm half way through the fourth one now. So I should be finished by tomorrow. Maybe then I'll just sit and stare at Anna. I'm sure I've missed lots of things with my nose in the books. I hope she remembers me! :)
