Potty Training Blues

How does anyone get potty trained? How does anyone ever potty train someone else? So far, Anna has been able to hold in all but a tiny bit of her pee for the past 6 hours. I didn't think little bladders could handle that much. I've given her as much to drink as she'll take and ask her to sit on the potty constantly. But no, she doesn't want to and no she won't. So instead, she just walks around holding herself. Fun. You think she's smart enough to take off the panties, then pee in a hidden spot?

Well, here's a layout I finished during the last two days of cleaning up pee from my floor.

Whoo Hoo Again!

Man, this has been a great month - my first published layout, layouts featured on others' blogs, and now 2 design teams! I only found out about Let's Scrap a couple of weeks ago. And today, I got an email from Happy Scrappin' Scrapbooking congratulating me on being chosen for the design team. I am so thrilled. I can't wait to get started.
You know, I've never really made any New Year's resolutions, but this past January I did. I decided I WAS going to be published and I WAS going to be on a design team. Both of those are things that I had wanted for a while. I never truely thought I'd be able to do either, but I did. This gives me hope that maybe I really can lose those last 10 lbs. from the baby.
Ok, now to go get a cookie!

Bubas

Anna has always loved, loved, loved bubbles. And when she FINALLY started talking a little, it was one of her first words. It still comes out "bubas" but as long as she's saying something, we are happy. Anyhow, I created this layout (after struggling with everything from cutting the pictures the wrong size to taking a straight picture of it) from a Pagemap sketch done for Let's Scrap over at http://letsscrap.ning.com/. (As you can see, I still don't have enough technology smarts to figure out how to just put the name of the place and have the link inside it.)
I'm still not sure you can tell with the picture, but all of my flower groupings have at least 1 that pops off the page.

Mini Albums

I was going through some pictures of my mini albums today, trying to pick out some to use for a DT application, when I realized I had never posted any on my blog. Well, I just can't let that happen any longer! :) I had a few to choose from - vacation, colors, dreams, childhood, etc., but one of my favorites has got to be my color book that I made for Anna. It was one of the first mini albums I made, & while I'd change a few things if I were to redo it, I still love it. I worked pretty hard on it. I cut shapes out of sponges, felt, photo album covers.....I went all out. There's a page for every primary color and different examples on each page. She likes it a ton, but she also is a little dangerous with stuff like that. So, I'm saving it until she gets just a bit older.
Here are a few pictures.

GCD blog

A few weeks ago I won a product pack from GCD Studios. I got it in the mail last week and spent this past weekend using it on a couple of layouts. I sent a pic of my layouts and a review of the product to GCD and guess what....They posted it all on their blog. So, go over there and check it out.

Here's the picture that I sent to them.

Yay for ME!

I'm so excited. I was invited to join the design team at Let's Scrap. I've put the blinkie on the side bar, so click on it and check out the site. It's a really great place for sketches, which I happen to love. And the design team puts up challenges every week, so there's always something to get your creative juices flowing. And for all of us who love freebies, and who doesn't, join in and win some scrappy little prizes.
I'm so excited!!

Card Making

I've never been that great at cards. I don't know why. It should just be like making miniature layouts. But mine just never turn out that great. I try to make them simple and they look plain. I try to make them elaborate and they look junky. So anyways, last night I decided that I was going to make 3 cards. And I was going to like them no matter what. So this is what I came up with. Nothing fancy or too original. Just cards. I don't know why I didn't photograph the insides! The "Party On" card says "No matter what your age, You're never too old to celbrate your birthday!" on the inside. - Long, I know. It's small font.

The "Fearless" card is for a boy on some sort of sports team. On the inside it says "you're a star."

Tutu Love

I had all intentions of taking nice pictures of Anna this weekend. We haven't done it in so long. But of course, Anna makes the rules and she wasn't going for it. We took her to the park Saturday morning, but she was more interested in staring at the other little girls getting their photo taken than paying attention to us. Even bribing her with a sucker didn't work. So we took her home, put her down for a nap, and prayed she'd wake up happy. She didn't. A new tutu did perk her up a little when we showed her that her Zoe doll also wears a tutu. So these were the pictures I took for the 30 minutes she was happy. I had trouble getting a decent background, because we were just taking them at our house and a neighbor's. No need to drive somewhere nice if she wasn't going to cooperate. At least I got a few good ones.

Proof

I really have been scrapping, even though I haven't put up any proof of it. The last day or so I've worked on a housewarming card for my cousin, a "Dream Big" album for my daughter, and a layout to submit to Back Porch Memories.

Here are pictures of the card I made for my cousin. It's not that special - I'm still not that great at cards. I used scraps from my 3Bugs Home collection. It came together in no time flat.

Here are pictures of the Dream Big album I made for my daughter. I found the cloud shaped album at Michael's for $1. Whoo Hoo! The ribbon was scraps. The paper is from Fancy Pants. The letter rubons were a find at Big Lots. All in all, a pretty cheap deal. I just took oddball pictures that I had of Anna to show her that she could be anything she wanted to when she grows up. Each inside page says something like, "you could be a rock climber (cowgirl, janitor, actress, etc.)"

Two Peas

I joined Two Peas in a Bucket a long time ago. I mean, like 5 years ago. But I haven't ever done anything on the site. There is just so much info over there that I never have the time to sit and actually go through the site. But tonight I decided to join in on the fun that I always hear about. I used to be a member of a site that I got kits of the months from, but I don't get their kit anymore, so I feel weird posting. I miss having that community since I don't really have many friends who scrapbook.
So, I posted two old layouts to the gallery - go vote for them!! I'm under the user name MichelleR.

I'm published!

I forgot to mention - go pick up an issue of Scrapbooks etc. Look in the reader's imspiration column near the front. One of those pages is mine!

Vegas Pictures

I finally got my pictures fromVegas off my camera, but they just sat on the computer for a while. And yesterday, I finally actually ordered them. I tried a new website - seehere.com - so we'll see how that works out. I love using shutterfly, but I saw and ad saying if I signed up I could get 100 free prints, so cheapo me went for it. I probably won't ever use it again, though. It didn't have very good editing features. Oh well, I only paid $5 for shipping, so it was worth the 89 pictures, even if they don't all come out too well. Anyways, here's some pictures from Vegas.
This is the group that went.
