Uh oh

I so can't remember to post anything. It's a problem, I know. I'll work on it. One day.
So anyways, here's my way late layouts I did for ScrapFreak's August kit. I hate to tell you, but it's all sold out for one-timers. I'm not sure if you can even get it as a subscription, but I'd try!
And just so you won't be sad again next month, you really need to get on that subscription now. I promise these kits will be gone fast. Just ask the poor ladies who tried to get one this month.

This is a cute teeny tiny journal/scrapbook I made for Anna. I'm going to let her scribble away in it, then let her glue pics from all of my index prints inside. She likes scrapbooks and she likes little things. Works!

This is an odd ball 6x6 layout. I happen to think it is cute sitting in a plate stand on my shelf, though.

Just a plain ol' layout.

Just a couple of cards.

Word of the Week, Month, Year

So, I'm bored. I've been bored. Sure, there are fleeting moments of excitedness. But I'm bored. Not bad, unhappy bored. Just bored.
So I blog hop. And hop. And hop. Because I'm bored.
I find Pioneer Woman's blog. And she has a post for the word of the day.

And I think - wow, that's me. Ennui. I am bored. I feel melancholy. I'm so bored that I don't know that I just used the word melancholy correctly, but I don't care enough to find out. So if I didn't, deal with it.
I try to think of things to do to make me less bored. But none of them excitement enough to make me want to do them. I'm lethargic. I'm blah.
Just blah.
Anyone have a solution?

The greatest show on Earth!

Saturday was a circus day! Some friends came down and we took our kids to the Ringling Bros. circus. So much better than the measly little circus that we took Anna too last year.
Of course this one didn't have a real live bear that you could sit your kids beside to take a picture.
Yeah, a real bear.
Not in a cage.
Just with a chain around his neck.
Cause you know that's going to stop him from swatting off an obnoxious kid's head with his gigantic paws!

Birdy

Awww, what a sweet little bird.
Looks just like the one that was standing in the middle of the road this morning.
The one that I thought would fly away at the last minute.
The one that I didn't swerve to miss, because birds always fly away at the last minute, right?
Seriously, bird, move.
Aww, man. That bird didn't move.
Which makes me think maybe he couldn't fly.
Aww, so maybe he was a baby.
So I ran over a baby bird?
Oh I think I'm going to cry.
Makes me think of my squirrel running over days.
That makes me cry.
What a rotten day.

Dear Lisbeth,

I loved The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo. It was a little confusing at first, but I loved it. And in no time at all I read the last two books in the trilogy. I knew the books were being made into a film, but I had no idea that the first two were already made. What!? The first one is playing now - in select theaters, of course. And the second one is coming soon. Why didn't someone tell me this last weekend when we had a babysitter? Ugh.

I never really had a clear picture of Salander in my head, but I really don't think this would've been what I came up with. Hmmm.

What!?

It's only 158 days until Christmas?

You know what day it is!

It's sketch Sunday over at The Everyday Scrapper!
This month, all of the Sunday Sketches come with a twist. This week's twist was to use some kind of stitching. I used my sewing machine and lime green thread!

Here's the sketch.
And here's my layout. (sorry for the junky picture. The rain and cloudy skies are killing my light)

My Artist

I knew I wanted to incorporate some of Anna's paintings on one of my layouts, so I ended up punching shapes out and using them as embellishments.

TES Sketch Sunday!

It's Sunday again - where did the week go? Time for another sketch from The Everyday Scrapper!
By the way, you really should join in on the fun. Prizes are offered for some lucky gal who completes a sketch! Whoo hoo!
Here's today's sketch - oh and this one has a twist. You have to use hearts somewhere on your layout.

And now here's mine!
All of my patterned paper is from American Crafts' Dear Lizzy line. LOVE IT!

Zoo Trip

A while back Robert took off work in the middle of the week so we could take Anna to the zoo. It took us forever to find it and when we finally did, we had to park miles out. Why, you ask, did we have to park so far away? Because it was SCHOOL DAY! Yep, a nice 120-150 buses full of lovely 3rd-5th graders just waiting to get in my way. Because teachers these days think field trips mean a day off for them. Ugh.
Anyways, Anna was not in a picture taking mood but here's a few from the excursion.
I think she got tired of me telling her to smile.
Two rides and $5 later, she was a happy camper.

We've got a snake charmer on our hands. Whenever she'd go up to a snake box, the snake would wake up and start following her face. Even other people stopped to comment on the snakes liking her. Creepy much?

The little train ride around Hermann Park was a nice end to the day.

ello.....

What happens when you give a 2 yr. old a chocolate ice cream cone?
She looks at you and with a crazy thick accent says, "Ello, my name is Pancho Villa."

(I honestly have no idea what Pancho Villa looks like, or now that I come to think of it, who he actually was. But it's the first thing I thought of when I saw this.)

I can't keep up!

I don't know why I've been so bad about blogging lately. I'll try to do better.....I promise.
So here's a nice long post to make up for it.
First off, some pictures. It's been raining nonstop here for a week now and we are getting so tired of being in the house. Luckily, Anna loves rubber boots and umbrellas.
And for some reason, she's gotten really into posing for pictures. Now, don't think she does it when I ask her to, oh no, she does it when she feels like it. We'll just be sitting there having a nice discussion and she'll say "Momma, go get your camera. I pose for you." And this face is what I get every time. I guess it's worth getting up for.
Loving that Scooby Doo shirt, aren't you?

Ok, enough pictures. Here's my take on the sketch from The Every Day Scrapper!
