The sketch queen over at The Everyday Scrapper has allowed us to take Halloween off, so there isn't a new sketch today.
But, I did complete the challenge to layer my punches, so I thought I'd share.
AGH! I just realized that there is no picture posting button! This has happened once before and it really ticked me off. I hope this is fixed - quick!
Ok, I'm back and it's fixed!

Personalized Journal Tutorial
Last week I created a little tutorial using the October kit (one of my favs) from ScrapFreak. It was posted on the Scrapfreak blog, which you should definitely check out, and I thought I would go ahead and post it here, too.
Personalized Journals
I'm always looking for quick and inexpensive gifts for Christmas. And if I can add a little homemade touch to them, that's even better.
With October's kit I was able to take $1 journals and create unique journals that I'm sure everyone will love (if I don't keep them for myself!). There is enough supplies included in the October kit to make 6 journals in the style that I made, but you could easily decorate more if you designed it a little differently.
Here are my steps. Feel free to follow along exactly or change it up to suit your style.
1. Find simple, inexpensive journals. I found mine in the dollar bin at M's!
2. Add a little ribbon. I chose not to put the ribbon all the way around the back of the journal. I wanted my journal to lay flat so I either stopped the ribbon at the edge of the front cover or on the spine. I also used fray check on the edges of the ribbon just to be safe.
3. Add a journaling block. For this journal I turned the journaling block upside down because a bicycler just didn't fit my journal theme and I knew I would be embellishing over it.
4.Embellish it. I added a flower and a smaller sticker to the front of each journal. I chose not to layer on the embellishments too much because I wanted the journal to hold up longer.
5. Repeat!

FRed Lobster Update
This past weekend was the totally unique, and never to be forgotten FRed Lobster Race. And this time the guys actually came home with a trophy. Granted it was a third place one, but who cares!!!
I have tons of great pics, but no time today to get them up. I do promise, though, that they will be up this week (hopefully on Wednesday). Keep checking back!!

December Daily
I've been wanting to do Ali Edwards' December Daily for a few years now, but never actually committed to it. This year is different. This year is the first year for Christmas in Houston. This is the first year we will be staying home on Christmas day instead of going to families' houses. It's going to be a big change.
So this year I will do it. I've started gathering some supplies. A binder I already had, some journaling spots, and buttons that were just waiting to be used. And some new stuff - papers, stars, and some transparencies that are on the way here in a big brown box.
I can't wait to get started.

Boo at the Zoo!
This past weekend was a Halloween celebration at the zoo. We had to be there for a company picnic, so of course, we spent a little time roaming around the newer exhibits. I brought my camera, but the battery went dead after the first shot, so what few pictures we have are from the phone. :(
Anna's favorite exhibit was the new Dinosaur forest. She's been learning about dinosaurs in school, so it was perfect timing.

Sketch Sunday
It's Sketch Sunday over at The Everyday Scrapper, and for the first time in a long time, I'm on time!
This is my favorite sketch so far! There's so many things you could do with it.
And here's my take on it.
When Robert took Anna fishing for the first time he forgot to bring our camera and used my mom's instead. I just now got these pictures from her and had to scrap them right away.

Stamp Happy
After sheets of wasted paper, and an entire thread over at the Scrap Freak forum about how to make my stamps look pretty, I finally got it done.
And my challenge for Just Create this week is for you guys to use stamps on something - anything - too.
Good luck!

Sneak Time!
Ooooo. Look at the sneak from ScrapFreak! Don't you love it?
On a side note, just know that you will be singing that song all.day.long. And if your house is like my house, as soon as you say "whatcha got cookin" a little voice will throw in "MACARONI!"

Funday Monday
Yesterday was spent in the yard. I am not cut out for dragging around bags of mulch. I do not have the muscle mass for that.
Now, the lady that we saw at Lowe's yesterday? She could've carried me and all the mulch bags at once. She was getting upset with the cashier and I was scared for him. I located all potential weapons within my reach just in case she went beserk. Of course I would've grabbed the weapon and thrown it to Robert on my way out the door, but at least I was prepared for my course of action.
Anywhoo, I was too tired yesterday to realize it was Sunday or that it was sketch day, so here you go.
A day late and a dollar short.

Late again!
If I would stay home on Sundays, I would get my stuff done on time, huh?
Probably never going to happen.
Anyways, here's the sketch for this week's The Everyday Scrapper sketch!
