Love Notes

Anna likes to leave notes around the house. She scribbles away, then signs her name. Sometimes she can't remember what she wrote because she "don't remember what she spelled" or it looks "too messy," and the message will often change when you ask her about it a day or so later. But when I found this note she had hung with "sticky stuff" up on my office shelf, she knew immediately what it said.
"I love you so much."
I don't plan on asking her again what it says. I'll take the message just like it is, thanks.

One more Christmas

Here's a layout I did with Anna and her dollhouse that Robert, I mean Santa, made.

Christmas, finally

Believe it or not, I think I'm finished with my 2010 scrapbook. Sure, there are some things I didn't scrap, but really, who will notice? And maybe one day I'll get bored and go back and do those. Probably not.
Here's a few layouts from Christmas. And yes, I know they look blue. They didn't look blue yesterday when I uploaded them. And you know me enough to know that I'm so not redoing them!

Using up some stash

I'm in love with next month's kit over at Studio Calico, and I think I'm going to give in to my weaknesses and order way too much. So the only way I can justify is to get some serious mojo going and use up a bunch of old stuff.
Here's a layout I did yesterday with scraps from last month's kit. All I added was some white Mr. Huey droplets, brads from My Mind's Eye, and some Thickers.

Keys killed Chivalry

Whoever invented the remote key lock fob thing for cars should be sad. Very sad. Because he or she is responsible for the demise of chivalry.
Robert still opens building doors for me, possibly because I just stand there until he does, but when it comes to car doors, it's a no go. Apparently it takes too much time to walk around the car when all you have to do is push a button. Why get in the car after the woman when you can get in at the same time? That is, unless, you forget that to unlock passenger doors you have to push the button twice. Which he does. All the time.
So, to you, Mr. I Invented the Remote Key Lock, I say - thanks for nothing.

Curly James and Roy

Anna wore her hair curly one day and decided that she should be called Curly James. So for two days I felt like I was talking to a wild west outlaw. Kind of fitting since I was constantly hunting her and trying to determine what she was going to destroy next. And I'm pretty sure one day we were on the verge of a shoot out.

And now she's picked up the habit of calling Robert "Roy" when she gets frustrated with him. Wonder where she gets that from? :)

January Snapshots

I'm usually pretty good about keeping my pictures uploaded and ordered, but for some reason I just now got around to uploading my January pictures. And not only did I realize that I didn't take many pictures in January, but I have all of 5 pictures for February. I need to get on the ball!

The bento box is still how Anna carries her lunch to school. She loves the drawings on her food that I sometimes do.

We used up all the broken crayons to make star crayons. Anna thought it was too pretty and still hasn't colored with it!

Reading the instructions.

Hammering away!

Oh, yes. Those are real tools for kids. No plastic here. Just really sharp saws and heavy hammers.

One day...

I promise. I will be back. Illness, funerals, school parties, and a 3 year old with an attitude have taken up all my time lately.
But one day I will be back.

Two in Two

With the last two weeks of nasty funk behind us, I'm hoping that Anna and I will stay well for a long time. Anna is at school for the first time in 1.5 weeks and if there is a sick kiddo who gives something to her, I'm going to be one mad momma!
To pass the time when I wasn't sneezing, coughing, or puking, I managed to get two layouts done. Two in two weeks isn't too bad, is it?

ugh

We have the crud. Sneezing, coughing, fever, sore throat. It's nasty. It matches our nasty weather. Anna and I have been quarantined to upstairs so we won't get Robert sick.
Did I mention how nasty it is?
