Flashback

I got my May issue of Scrapbook Trends a day or so ago and while looking though it I saw a mini album by Amy Heller that reminded me a lot of a mini I created about a year ago. Actually, I opened up the book and thought I had sent my mini in and just didn't remember it!
It's still one of my favorites, so I thought I would post it again here. You can get to the original post by clicking the link above, but I just copied it straight to this post for you!

Inspired by a tutorial over at the Crate Paper blog a while back, I came up with this tiny little mini album over the weekend. Super simple. No real journaling, just some of my favorite pictures from the last month or so.

Supplies:
Crate Paper journaling squares - I used 7 from one of their 12x12 sheets
Crate Paper letters, stickers, journaling spot cardstock stickers
American Crafts tape
Making Memories glitter letters and word sticker
Jennie Bowlin butterfly
Handmade embellies with punched embellies and flowers

Catching up with Project Life

I'm almost caught up. I just need to embellish Easter week and I'm back on schedule.
Look at me go!

I'm Alive

And still working on Project Life. I got a little behind. Well, really a lot behind. With all the construction in the house, I couldn't get to the office and barely ever remembered to take pictures. So nothing got done. But the furniture is back where it goes and all I'm waiting on are counters, my cook top, and a new fridge. So while I'm waiting, I'm going to catch up on all the scrap stuff I've missed out on.
Because there were a couple of weeks that I didn't even bother getting out my camera, and because the past month has seemed like nothing more than an endless cycle of dust, construction workers, and more dust, I decided to make two weeks one page spreads. Easter week still gets 2 pages, but those other two weeks get one page only. Not a big deal. I'm good with it.

My house?

It's a mess. Cabinets are being painted in my living room. My kitchen is in my dining room. I have to crawl over couches to get into my office. You can write your name in dust on every surface in the house.  This 3 week project is on week 3 and isn't half way done.
Needless to say, nothing is getting done. No project life, no layouts, no pictures. And it's driving me nuts!

A week or so ago I had a project feature on Practical Scrappers and I chose to do a layout using all my quick tricks of the moment.
You can click on the link to see all the details, but basically I focused on color choices, punches, stamps, and journaling.  I happen to be at a point in my life where scrapping has taken a backseat to fishing things out of B's mouth and answering a million questions a day from A, so quick tricks are the only things allowing me to get any scrapping done at all.

Project Life Week ?

So I skipped out on the catching up and decided just to focus on the week that I was actually in. I'm not sure, but I think this is week 13. The missing weeks will get done....eventually.

The pictures finally felt summery enough to pull out the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line. I love it!

Starting chapter books

We have read every single book in Anna's bookshelf many times. And I couldn't take them anymore. So we picked up the first Harry Potter book for her (she's never seen the movie) and every other night we read a chapter or so from it. (The other nights are Bible stories.) Problem is, we only have one bookmark in this entire house. I tend to use bobby pins that I pull out of my bangs.
So when Practical Scrappers had a call for bookmarks, I knew I could throw one together and make one for Anna. It's pink and girly and took only minutes to make.
